The MHonArc program is used to convert e-mail to webpages. It works by setting up a special e-mail address on www.usask.ca. Any mail sent to that address is archived on www.usask.ca.
Some features include:
- Support for "html mail." For example, people sending e-mail with Netscape can send it as "html mail," including font changes, pictures, links to other documents, etc. MHonArc will save the HTML version in the archive. This provides a handy way of letting novice users build webpages.
- Fully customizable. A configuration file allows you to control the appearance of the pages, the type of indexing done, etc.
- Chronological and Threaded indices to the messages.
Use MHonArc to archive mailing lists. We set up an archive, then add its e-mail address to the mailing list. Any mail sent to the list will automatically be archived. For an example of MHonArc in action, visit the mailing lists archives.
If you want a MHonArc mailing list archive set up, please contact the central web coordinators.
- What is the name of the mailing list to be archived?
- Who will be responsible for the mailing list archive?
