Wiki software is a tool through which students and instructors, or other self-organizing groups, can participate in developing and sharing knowledge locally (or globally) using the web.
The U of S Wiki Service is intended for collaborative work among instructors, students and/or administrators (U of S Members) at the University of Saskatchewan. Circumstances exist where U of S Members wish to collaborate with people (Non-U of S Members) who are not in those broad groups at the U of S. In order to accommodate this need, U of S Members can invite Non-U of S Members explicitly to participate in a wiki space.

Features
Easy to Use
No technical expertise, complex procedures or uploading are required to update your pages-all you need is a web browser. Text can be formatted with ease. Experienced wiki users can also use wiki markup language on their wiki.
Work Spaces
Confluences organizes wikis using workspace; these are multiple, independently managed wikis all incorporated into a single site. You can create an unlimited number of spaces, including your own personally named space.
File Attachments
You can attach files to your wiki. Once uploaded to your wiki, files are versioned when changes are made and allow comments by the author of the changes. It is also possible to link to your files or search the content within your files.
E-mail Notification
You can keep up-to-date with changes in wiki content through e-mail notification. You can receive e-mail or you can even set up your own personal watch list within the wiki.
Secure
You can control who can read or change the content on your space and mark them as public or private. Members of the University community must login with their NSIDs to access private spaces; however, anonymous users can access public spaces.
