Ready, set, grow! The feverous pace continues at the College of Law construction site and the PCL team is set to break through the buildingĖs existing walls. The space we have called home since 1967 is beginning to take on a very different look and feel as renovations to modernize this space are now getting underway. As of April 18th, the College of Law, including the Law Library, will be inaccessible to the public and U of S students until the fall in order to facilitate the renovation and construction process. Faculty will spend the summer months working via remote access, while administrative personnel have taken up temporary quarters in the adjacent College of Commerce student lounge. The corridor linking the newly constructed space to the existing College of Law will be the focus of activity over the coming weeks.

Bzzzzzzz! If you've been in or around the College of Law in recent days, you will have noticed a considerable rise in the noise level. Our construction team from PCL continues with demolition work on the existing building in preparation for the exciting day when they will break through the library wall and begin joining our existing building to the expansion. The roof is being tarred and walls are being erected. If you're watching closely at exactly the right time, you will be able to see several members of the construction crew wearing protective harnesses as they carry on with work on the third floor and roof area of the expansion. Great work!

Orange you excited? We are! As progress continues on the College of Law expansion project, a major portion of the new construction is now covered by endless panels of orange tarp. While these panels significantly reduce our view of the construction team, they also serve to protect these workers from the Saskatchewan winter weather. The steal beams that will eventually form the roof of our expanded facility have been placed, and large shipments of cindercrete blocks continue to arrive on-site. A continuous flurry of noisy activity is our constant companion.

Through wind, snow, blizzards and freezing temperatures, the construction crew from PCL continues their effort on the new College of Law! Considerable progress has been made in recent days and work appears to be focused on the third level of the addition. At any given time, the construction team can be heard sawing, hammering, drilling and pounding, all with the assistance of the very large construction crane that is now on-site. Excitement is growing amongst students, staff and faculty; as is the endless maze of scaffolding that can be seen on the interior of our new addition.
