  • Why does the Learning Commons workstations not have the same software installed as the workstations in the Commerce/Engineering/Arts lab?

One of the goals of the Learning Commons is to provide the campus community with a general purpose facility, equipped with a broad range of software applications and tools. College or discipline specific software (for programming, CAD, business tools etc) are best left supported by individual colleges and labs.

  • Why can I not open my WordPerfect documents?

Microsoft Word 2003 does not have a file converter for versions of WordPerfect later than 6.0. If you have files from a version of WordPerfect later than 6.0 that you now wish to use with Microsoft Word, you will first need to convert them, using the original version of WordPerfect that created the documents (or a later version), to a format compatible with Microsoft Word (i.e. WordPerfect 6.0, Microsoft Word, or Rich Text (RTF) format).
