A while back I posted a message (Actually twice) about some trouble with
Cranes Platinotype - no easy answers were forthcoming. After digging around
in my archives, I found that Cranes was available to talk about their
papers. I called and they asked me to send some samples of the paper in
question. I'm happy to report that they are sending me a box of paper to
replace the bad batch. I have included the response from them below - it
was a very pleasant experience.

Subject: Crane's 90# Cover
>I want to replace the contaminated 90# Cover that you have and I would like
to use the 8 ½ x 11 size to do this. Could you guesstimate how many sheets
I would need to send. We do have a box of 125 sheets available if you think
this would suffice.
>The lot number will be available on the label for the 8 ½ x 11 cover stock.
You should not have contamination problems with any Crane papers, regardless
of where you purchase them. The sheets that you received were not picked up
and eliminated by our quality systems.
>Carl Weese mentioned to you our e-commerce site which is up and running at
this time. You can order the 8 ½ x 11 90# Crane's Cover from there or from
our Crane Direct catalogue which will be included with your replacement
order. Flat stock size sheets are not available yet from our e-commerce
