Fredrick Sommer utilized a technique he called "smoke on glass."
I believe he put grease on glass plates and "smoked" them over a flame
and enlarged the glass plates to make silver prints. He has also done
some of this work in color and ther are several books showing his work.
You've got to jump off cliffs all the time
and build your wings on the way down.
