The Fiscal Year 2010 (FY10) Defense Appropriations Act
provides $80 million to the Department of Defense Prostate Cancer Research
Program (PCRP) to fund research that will eliminate death and suffering from
prostate cancer. This program is administered by the U.S. Army Medical
Research and Materiel Command through the Office of the Congressionally Directed
Medical Research Programs (CDMRP). Detailed descriptions of each of the
funding opportunities, evaluation criteria, and submission requirements can be
found in the FY10 PCRP Program Announcements (PAs).
The FY10 PCRP Idea Development Award and Synergistic Idea
Development Award PAs are available electronically for downloading from the
Grants.gov website (http://grants.gov), the
CDMRP website (http://cdmrp.army.mil/funding/pcrp.htm)
and the CDMRP eReceipt System (<https://cdmrp.org>).
These funding opportunities require a pre-proposal submitted through the CDMRP
eReceipt System. Submission of full proposals is by invitation only, and such
applications for funding must be submitted through Grants.gov.

The remainder of the PCRP PAs will be released in
February 2010. These PAs describe the Exploration-Hypothesis Development
Award, Health Disparity Research Award, Health Disparity Training Award, Impact
Award, Laboratory-Clinical Transition Award, Physician Research Training Award,
Population-Based Research Award, and Prostate Cancer Training Award. Brief
descriptions of each of these award mechanisms are available on the
Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs website at http://cdmrp.army.mil/pubs/press/2009/10pcrppreann.htm.
Additional notifications will be sent when the PAs for these award mechanisms
are released.
