SSHRC Citizenship and permanent resident status eligibility criteria

Notice of rule change regarding eligibility criteria - Canadian citizenship and permanent resident status

This note is to inform you that SSHRC will abolish its requirement for Canadian citizenship and permanent residents for applicants applying to its research base, strategic and communications programs.  This revision will bring SSHRC's rule into harmony with those of the other federal granting agencies with regards to these criteria.  Applicants must still be affiliated with a Canadian postsecondary institution, unless the eligibility criteria of the program to which they are applying states otherwise.

Please note that all training programs such as the Masters, the Doctoral and the Postdoctoral fellowships do not fall under this amendment.

This change takes effect on April 1, 2004.
