The Centre canadien de recherche sur les francophonies en milieu minoritaire
(CRFM) of the University of Regina's Institut Français, is launching its first research grant competition. This competition is open to university and community researchers in Saskatchewan, across Canada and around the world.
The competition will close on June 3 2005.

The CRFM supports original research projects that will enhance the understanding of the francophone experience in minority situations. Within these global parameters, the CRFM will give priority to projects focusing on the following issues: identity strategies, culture and heritage, education, public policy (health, immigration, etc.). The CRFM encourages multidisciplinary projects as well as those that compare the francophone experience to that of other peoples or ethno-cultural groups in minority contexts.

Priority will normally be given to projects focusing on the following francophone communities, in the order indicated:
the Fransaskois community; other francophone communities of western Canada; other francophone communities in minority situations.

The CRFM offers six types of grants:
·	Research grants
·	Research grants for students
·	Grants for teaching releases
·	Research grants for community researchers
·	Aid for academic publication
·	Aid for community-based publication
