Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh has received a Credit
(No. 4475 BD) in the amount of about US$ 130 million from the International Development
Association (IDA) toward the cost of Secondary Education Quality and Access
Enhancement Project (SEQAEP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds to
payments for consulting services to be procured under the project. The
following international Consultant will be recruited on the basis of individual
International Consultant for English Support Service (Service Package S 8.2)
The minimum qualification for application is: (i)At least Master’s degree
in English, higher degrees like MS, M. Phil/Ph. D in the subject area will be
preferred. and; (ii)B. Ed /M. Ed. /Dip-in-Ed.
Strong subject expertise (English)
Secondary /Higher Secondary School teaching experience/ experience of teaching
in Teacher Training Institutes in non-English speaking countries. Preferably in
Experience in developing new ideas and approaches for teaching weaker students.
Knowledge and experience in the contusion of test items for learner assessment.
Understanding of the Teacher Education Curriculum and other Pre-service and in
service teacher training modalities.
Proven expertise in materials development ( Training Manual, Training guide,
Training Module etc for English and Head Teachers for class observation/
supervision, school text book, etc)
Experience in mentoring of teachers training of teacher supervisors / mentors.
The duration of the assignment is for 6 months over the 5 years project period.
It is envisaged that 3 months in 2009 and the rest to be negotiated over the
