Noon Lecture: "Process and the Pentaquark" - Dr. Chary Rangacharyulu The University of Saskatchewan Process Philosophy Research Unit (USPPRU) is sponsoring a public lecture by Dr. Chary Rangacharyulu, Dept. of Physics, U of S, entitled "Process and the Pentaquark". Dr. Rangacharyulu's isolation of the sub-atomic particle known as a 'pentaquark' was ranked as the ninth most important scientific discovery in the world for 2003 by the journal 'Discover'. The lecture will be presented for a general audience and will also discuss the role of science and the university. The lecture will be presented from 12:00 to 1:45 p.m., Friday, April 16, 2004 in Room 146 of the Arts Building with an introduction by Dr. Steven Franklin, Vice-President of Research. A question period will follow the lecture. All faculty, staff and students are cordially invited to attend the celebration of Dr. Rangacharyulu's important accomplishment. |
