On-line System Difficulties: Update

As most of you are aware, NSERC experienced some On-line System
difficulties-delays when attaching, printing and viewing
documents-during the peak period surrounding application deadlines,
including the most recent deadline of November 1, 2004. These
difficulties were experienced if applicants were submitting forms
electronically or if they simply used the On-line System to prepare
their applications. We thank you for your help and support in managing
the application submission process during this challenging time. 

NSERC will continue to monitor and support the On-line System during the
period leading up to the application deadlines for the NSERC
Postgraduate Scholarships on November 15 and 25, 2004. Immediately
following these deadlines, NSERC will conduct a study to review options,
ensuring that an effective and reliable electronic submission process is
in place for the next major grant application deadlines in the fall of
2005. This will include consultation with users of the system. We will
keep you informed as we progress and will announce the approach NSERC
has decided to take as soon as the study is completed, likely in the
next few months. NSERC is committed to providing you with an effective
and reliable On-line System.
