ANNOUNCEMENT  - FUNDING FOR SEED RELATED RESEARCH 2005

The Canadian Seed Growers! Association announces their continuing national program to provide research grants for seed related research.

The following examples are considered priority areas:

 - Pedigreed seed crop production standards such as isolation and previous land use requirements
- Varietal identity verification
- To adapt! adjust, modify or develop seeding and harvest equipment to better meet the needs of seed growers

Other research projects related to seed production and quality may be submitted. Economic studies of public policy, or impacts of regulations, related to pedigreed seed, seed producers, and the seed business environment will also be considered. Varietal development or plant breeding research projects are generally not acceptable.

A limited number of research grants will be made on an annual basis for up to $12,000 per year, and may be renewable for an additional 1 or 2 years based on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
