Subject: Collaboration Program 2006 Canada - France / Air ticket plane and SSHN

Dear Professors, Searchers,

I am the Scientific Attaché from the Consulat General de France in Toronto. Every year, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs is awarding airplane tickets to support cooperative research projects involving both French and Canadian confirmed searchers. The aim is to promote cooperation in research between France and Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

This help could have two alternatives:

  • missions (from France to Canada)
  • invitations (from Canada to France).

Applications are gathered by the scientific service of the French Embassy and a selection is made by the Scientific Counsellor. All the fields of science are concerned, obviously each year there are a list of priorities.

Another way of helping searchers has been developed through few sabbatical periods from 1 to 3 months in France (called SSHN Séjours Scientifiques de Haut Niveau). The transport is at the own charge of the searcher but the help is about 1700 euros monthly.

The deadlines for 2006’s schedule application is September 26, but the period of application should be extended to 1or 2 more weeks from September 26. Would you please send me back the collaboration program 2006.xls enclosed as soon as possible. Thank you.

All the information about airplane tickets (and sectors of priority) and SSHN could be found on the French Embassy’s website, (link: http://www.ambafrance-ca.org/hyperlab/AIDEMEM/IamCanadian.htm). If you want to apply to these helping programs or if you need any query or additional information please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Cordially,
