ACCELERATE Saskatchewan is currently seeking professors to participate in an innovative internship program - managed by MITACS – which connects a grad student/post-doc and a faculty member in any academic discipline with a Saskatchewan partner company through 4 or 8 month research projects.

The ACCELERATE Saskatchewan advantage:

ü  The application process has limited paperwork and provides quick turnaround for funding approvals

ü  We can leverage your existing industry funding to support ACCELERATE Saskatchewan internships

ü  An ACCELERATE Saskatchewan internship will provide a valuable career opportunity for your graduate students and post-docs

ü  The program will help you to establish new relationships with non-academic partners

ü  We will assist you with the application process

Details:

A graduate intern, under the supervision of a faculty member, spends approximately half of his/her time over a four or eight month period onsite with a partner company, collecting data and developing a better understanding of a jointly-identified research problem. The balance of the intern’s time is spent at the university with their professor, developing a solution to the company’s challenge.

The company’s contribution of $7.5K per four-month internship is matched by MITACS, with funding support from the Government of Saskatchewan and the Government of Canada. The intern receives $10K of the $15K in funding, with the remaining $5K supporting other costs associated with the project.

Due to a recent expansion of the program, ACCELERATE Saskatchewan (http://www.acceleratecanada.ca/?lang=en&region=sk&page=overview) is now open to all university faculties and departments, such as Engineering, Psychology, Architecture, Nursing, Computer Science, Geography, Business, Biology, Medicine and many more.
