Research Director

The current Research Director is Dr. David Leswick.

Dr. Sheldon Wiebe will be Acting Chair of the Research Committe between July 2007 and January 2008.

Research Committee:

  • Who are we?  A group of 8 radiologists, researchers and administrators from Saskatoon.  Current members are David Leswick (Research Director), Grant Stoneham (Academic Head of Medical Imaging), Sheldon Wiebe (Unified Department Head), Derek Fladeland (Residency Program Director), Dean Chapman (Light source – AKA Synchrotron), Corey Miller (Medical Imaging General Manager), Sheri Harder (Radiologist), Brent Burbridge (Acting Program Director 2007-08).
  • How often does the committee meet?  The committee has formal meetings 3-4 times per year.  Between meetings communication is via e-mail and hallway conversations.
  • What does the committee do?  The committee has an evolving role.  The main goal is to foster quality medial imaging research in Saskatoon for both residents and staff radiologists.  We are currently working to increase collaborative efforts, funding and overall productivity.  One of the routine functions is the review and approval of applications for the Continuing Research Funds account.
  • How can I join?  We are actively looking for at least two new members.  One community based radiologist from Saskatoon and one from Regina.  If anyone is interested, please email Dave Leswick.

For more information please refer to the departmental Research site.
