UofS Department of Music is hosting a Brass and Woodwind Days weekend on our campus September 30 - October 2, 2011 (inclusive) featuring acclaimed Canadian French Hornist Jeff Nelsen and many of our departmental brass and woodwind applied and full time faculty. What is the UofS Brass and Woodwind days? The UofS Brass and Woodwind days builds on the past success of our UofS Brass Days events. Sponsored by the UofS Department of Music, Yamaha Canada, St. John's Music, UofS College of Arts and Science Vice Dean Dr. David Parkinson, Saskatchewan Band Association, Sask Lotteries, and Sask Culture, the UofS Brass and Woodwind Days events are collectively designed to inspire our faculty, students, and community members alike; they are meant to promote excellence in musical brass and woodwind performance at all levels, to share information, to create community and culture, and, to share the gift of our musical offerings with one another and with the community. Guest Artist: Presenting a major international guest artist to work with and inspire us all has been a hallmark of past UofS Brass Days events. This year we are delighted to present acclaimed Canadian french horn player Professor Jeff Nelsen.
