The University of Saskatchewan Concert Band under the direction of Dr. Glen Gillis is comprised of approximately 65 members that includes both music and non-music majors. The ensemble performs a wide variety of artistic repertoire for this medium in various Saskatoon area and campus venues. The Concert Band was the first instrumental ensemble sanctioned in the Department of Music in 1961. As the program grew, a second group was formed in 1974, first known as the Wind Ensemble and now the Wind Orchestra. 2011 marked the 50th anniversary of Bands at the University of Saskatchewan. Click here to view pictures, videos, and program from the June 23-25, 2011 re-union weekend. Stay tuned for future band alumni events.
