internationally recognized artist-teachers
FESTIVAL HISTORY
UNIFEST was founded in 1978 by the late Dwaine Nelson,
who guided the festival to its present stature. UNIFEST has attracted
more than 4000 participants every year from across Western Canada.
The festival is structured with a maximum participant growth in
mind, with performances, and workshops providing a wide range of
opportunities for students and directors. All participants are
encouraged to listen to as many of the other groups as possible,
as well as the professional performers.
