Keezhik (cedar):
“Keezhik (cedar) is cleaned from the branches and used to make a smoke smudge. Keezhik is also very useful for cleansing and helping to get rid of negative or "bad" energy around you" (Canadian Health Network, 2000).

“Refers today more generally to Aboriginal people of NSW and Victoria. Koori was derived out of respect for the memories of the Eora people, who experienced the first wave of English invasion in NSW. Goori, Muddi and Murri are also terms used to describe Aboriginal people in NSW” (NSWALC, 2002).
