Continuing Education and Development for Nurses
Events
For a complete listing of our upcoming events please check out our Calendar of Events.
Conferences
Conferences are held in Saskatchewan and are organized with the assistance of a planning committee comprised of a variety of people who have expertise in the subject area of the conference. Conferences may feature local, national and international experts. Some topics are offered annually and other topics are addressed as required.
Workshops
Workshops are held in various communities throughout the province and address specific needs identified by nurses in a particular region, thereby allowing more nurses to attend at minimal cost and with less time away from work and home responsibilities. Workshops also provide an opportunity for nurses in the region to become active in identifying their own educational needs and in requesting programs to meet those needs. Contact Selene Daniel-Whyte, Educational Program Manager of CEDN for inquiries.
E-Learning
Our E-Learning programs consist of presentations, made by leading experts and researchers in their fields that are broadcast live from studios in either Saskatoon or Regina and sent out to all participating sites throughout Saskatchewan. Registrants at the sites can then "tune in" to the broadcast on the television at the site they are registered. All E-Learning events are free of charge and open to health sciences students and health care professionals. Through our partnership with the Ministry of Health, we are able to bring leading experts throughout Saskatchewan on current issues..
Telehealth
Using live, two-way videoconferencing, we provide no fee educational sessions through Telehealth Saskatchewan. This is an approach to increase opportunities for continuing education for those working in health care or studying to become health care professionals while reducing continuing education barriers such as high registration fees and travel costs.
