SHRF Progress Reports
If you have received funding through SHRF, you will be reminded by SHRF staff when your report is due.
TriCouncil Financial and Progress Reports
Financial reports for TriCouncil grants are prepared automatically at federal fiscal year-end by Financial Services. They are produced and forwarded to the PI for approval. Once the PI has approved and signed the report, it is returned to Financial Services to be sent to the funding agency.
Depending on the nature of the grant or contract, and the funding agency/institute, progress reports and final reports may or may not be required. Check with your funding agency or institute, or contact your grants officer with any inquiries.
Other External Sponsors Progress Reports
The process of financial reporting to external funders is generally the same process as with TriCouncil funding. Check with your external funding agency to find out how and when you are required to report on your progress.
Helpful hint: Use the reminder from Ethics to renew your ethics certificate as a cue to check with your funder about reporting.
CIHR-funded Random Control Trial (RCT) Registration
In 2004, CIHR implemented "a new randomized controlled trial (RCT) policy that will require all CIHR-funded randomised controlled trials to register with an International Standard Randomised Controlled Trial Number (ISRCTN). The goal of the policy is to help ensure clinicians, researchers, patients and the public have access to information about CIHR-funded trials." For the source of this quote and more information, see: http://www.cihr-irsc.gc.ca/e/24107.html
