Clinical Placements
Post-Degree BSN Program
All clinical placements are arranged by the College of Nursing Clinical Coordinators. Students are notified by email when placement information is available.

| NEPS 154.1 Introduction to the Practice of Nursing (35 hrs): This is an introductory clinical course providing students with the opportunity to develop competency in fundamental nursing skills. A variety of clinical settings are utilized, with a focus on stable client populations. |
Spring/Summer Term 2 - one week |
| NEPS 253.3 The Practice of Nursing I (175 hrs): The focus of this clinical experience is on providing holistic care to adults experiencing acute or chronic illnesses. Students will have the opportunity to apply nursing skills and competencies in perioperative, medical, and/or rehabilitative clinical settings. | 5-week block, mid-November to mid-December. Placements may be located throughout Saskatchewan |

300 Level Clinical Courses
NEPS 351.3 The Practice of Nursing II (157 hrs): |
February - April: These clinical courses are scheduled in a 4.5 wk block, and in two rotations, the first rotation in Feb/Mar, and the second rotation in Mar/Apr. Students are assigned to either NEPS 351 or NEPS 353 in Feb/Mar, and then assigned to the alternate course in Mar/Apr. |

400 Level Clinical Courses
For 400 level clinical courses, students are able to provide placement preferences using the placement system HSPnet. Students are given a specific time frame to select and rank placement preferences in HSPnet. An information session to explain each course and placement process will be held in May.
| NEPS 451.3 Partnerships with Community (117 hrs): The focus of this clinical experience is on community health practice in a variety of settings including public health, home care, mental health, seniors' wellness, and school, rural and aboriginal health. |

| NEPS 456.6 Primary Health Care in the Community (240 hrs): Placement settings in this practicum provide the opportunity for students to focus on issues related to the broad determinants of health. |
Term 2 (2nd year) Jan. - Apr. These senior practica placements are 6 weeks full-time, following the schedule of the preceptor, with the order of each placement (Rotation 1 or Rotation 2) dependent on placement availability. |
