SDEO

NEPS 351.3 The Practice of Nursing II
 (157 hrs):
The focus of this clinical experience is on the care of adults with complex/rapidly-changing health challenges.

A variety of acute care settings are utilized, such as surgery, cardiosciences, neurosciences, and other medical units.

Term C2

  • These clinical courses are offered in two rotations, the first rotation in Feb/Mar with SIAST SDEO and the second rotation in Mar/Apr with U of S College of Nursing.
  • Students are assigned to either NEPS 351 or NEPS 353 in Feb/Mar, and will then be assigned to the alternate course in Mar/Apr.

NEPS 353.3 The Practice of Nursing III
 (157 hrs):
The focus of this clinical experience is on the care of adults with mental health challenges.

Placements may occur in inpatient psychiatry, corrections, community mental health, and long term care settings.

NEPS 356.3 The Practice of Nursing IV:
The focus of this clinical experience is on the care of infants, children, adolescents, (72 hrs) and childbearing families (72 hrs).

Placements may occur in inpatient pediatric and obstetric units, and various school and other community settings.

Term D

Clinical schedules will vary and be integrated with theory throughout the term.
