Saskatoon Nursing Students’ Society

The Saskatoon Nursing Students’ Society is an organization composed of 38 elected students and 2 appointed faculty reps whose mandate is to represent NEPS Saskatoon site students in areas of professional practice, academics, conferences, and student networking.  We work closely with members of the College of Nursing Faculty, SIAST Nursing Division, the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses’ Association (SRNA), the Saskatchewan Union of Nurses (SUN), and the Canadian Nursing Students’ Association (CNSA).  The SNSS is committed to working with students to provide them with opportunities to grow professionally and to create venues for students to interact with other students and nursing leaders.

The SNSS is proud to be a chapter school of the CNSA.  We are active in the CNSA in many ways.  Four of the 38 SNSS council seats are designated for students who represent NEPS Saskatoon Site students at CNSA events.  Our student representatives have a strong voice in the Prairie Region, and SNSS members annually attend the CNSA National Conference.  As a CNSA Chapter School we receive many benefits.  Each NEPS Saskatoon Site undergraduate student has the opportunity to become a member of the CNSA.  Students who are registered with the CNSA also have access to Nurse ONE, a valuable tool created to help nurses advance professionally.

This year the SNSS is excited to host the 2010 CNSA Prairie/ Western Regional Cnference, October 29th and 30th at the Park Town Hotel.  We look forward to hosting nursing students from across Western Canada!

If you have any questions or concerns please ensure that you contact a council member.  We look forward to working with you as we show Canada that the future of Registered Nursing is bright!

Happy Nursing!

Braden Davie, NS
