In May 2008, the University of Saskatchewan adopted its Second Integrated Plan – Toward an Engaged University 2008-2012. Based on the planning efforts of all colleges and administrative units, the Plan focuses energies and resources on three interconnected areas: improving the undergraduate and graduate student experience; enhancing the University’s profile in research, scholarly and artistic work; and working together more effectively across unit and institutional boundaries. Cutting across these priorities are University-wide aims to engage more fully with Aboriginal peoples, to internationalize, and to foster innovation throughout our programs and services.
Built on College planning processes in the 1990s, and based on the University’s Strategic Directions, we have rearticulated our vision, mission and values and identified four strategic directions that will move our College forward in concert with the shared vision of the University. These are:

In addition, the College has proposed an exciting University-wide initiative. Our Proposal for a Health Quality Improvement Focus in the Health Sciences will partner health science and other colleges, the Saskatchewan Health Quality Council, health regions and organizations involved in Quality Improvement (QI) to create and disseminate knowledge and develop QI tools and skills. It will enable our graduates and faculty to contribute to continuous, system-wide improvements in health care quality in priority areas.
Our College’s Plan for the future is solidly aligned with the University Plan, and as well with the visions of our two professions. The Blueprint for Pharmacy: the Vision for Pharmacy and A Vision for Dietitians…in 2020 will guide ongoing efforts to ensure our curricula continue to prepare outstanding pharmacy and nutrition professionals.
We look forward to working with all of our stakeholders – students, faculty, staff, alumni, colleagues within and outside the University and our professions to achieve our goals in the coming years.
