Pharmacy students are winners at PDW 2014
The College of Pharmacy and Nutrition was well represented at this year’s Professional Development Week (PDW) in Vancouver, BC in January 2014. PDW is an annual national conference for pharmacy students and interns. There are 10 pharmacy schools across Canada that send a group of delegates to the conference where competitions are held for compounding, patient interviewing, and literacy competition. With a large contingent of students from each year in the program, pharmacy students were winners in a number of competitions, including two 1st places.

Student Literary Competition: 3rd Place: Tommy Barr (Rx4)
Compounding Competition: 3rd Place: [Andrew Plishka, Jeff Herbert, James Khouri, Alanna Hoesgen (Rx4)]
CPhA Award of Professionalism (for the best pharmacy awareness week (PAW)): 3rd Place (award accepted by Cooper Sinclair and Shelby Scherbey)
IPSF Health Campaign Award (last year it was for the Tuberculosis campaign): 1st Place (award accepted by AJ Havlicek, Paige Knox, Cooper Sinclair, Shelby Scherbey)
