The Edith Rowles Simpson Lecture - Dr. Doug Powell lecture video
Dr. Doug Powell, Professor of Food Safety at Kansas State University, visited Saskatoon and the U of S on March 4, 2013. Dr. Powell was the invited lecturer to be this year’s lecturer for the Edith Rowles Lecture Series. His lecture entitled “Canada Can Do Better: Avoid Food Safety Complacency and Demand Safe Food.”
Over his career, Dr. Powell has published more than 66 papers, book chapters and a book, and has written over 6,000 entries for barfblog.com since 2006. He teaches courses in food safety risk analysis, policy, communications and culture, and works with a lot of graduate students. Dr. Powell is currently located in Brisbane, Australia.

The Edith Rowles Simpson Lecture Series was established in 1974 to honour Dr. Simpson for her years of service to the families of Saskatchewan through her work at the College of Home Economics and the University of Saskatchewan.
