Be Smart, Eat Smart Program
Living alone for the first time and want to learn more about nutrition and healthy eating? If so, the Be Smart, Eat Smart (BSES) Program is for you! The program is offered by the Nutrition Resource and Volunteer Centre (NRVC) of the College and Pharmacy and Nutrition.
Started in September 1998, the BSES program is aimed at first year university students, who may need support in food planing, budgeting, shopping, and preparation. The 1998-99 school year was the pilot year for BSES, and we are in the process of building this program.
Current program components include:
- BSES tip posters
This series of posters offers practical healthy eating tips. Look on bulletin boards around campus for tips on topics such as breakfast, snacking, eating out, food labels, and other useful information for students.
- Healthy eating articles
Extra! Extra! Read all about it! The BSES program publishes articles in The Sheaf, the University of Saskatchewan's student newspaper. Watch for articles and helpful food and nutrition tips.
- Self-study modules (under construction)
- Personal consultation services (under construction)
