Doreen Walker joined the College in September 1999. She has extensive experience working in health care; in hospitals as a clinical dietitian and in public health and community care as a program coordinator. In her current role as Professional Practice Coordinator, she works closely with students in their third year of the nutrition program.
Teaching Responsibilities:Doreen’s responsibilities include developing and leading course tutorials, teaching clinical nutrition and nutritional assessment labs, supervising student projects, liaising with dietitians and nutritionists in the field, and assisting faculty with projects and course activities. In 2003, she helped implement the College’s first interprofessional lab in which Pharmacy and Nutrition students worked together in a simulated hospital environment to enhance their interview, assessment, and collaborative skills.
