The College offers a four-year program leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (B.S.P.). The program provides a high quality, challenging education with significant clinical practice experience, increased integration and application of material throughout, and delivered in a way that actively involves students in the teaching-learning process and develops self-directed habits for lifelong learning.
Applicants require a minimum of one year (30 credit units) of university training, a “pre-Pharmacy year”, prior to April 30 of the year of application, to be considered for admission.

First Aid and CPR Certificates. At the time of graduation, B.S.P. students must hold a valid Class A First Aid Certificate and must have been certified for CPR (Level C including AED training) by the Heart and Stroke Foundation within 12 months prior to graduation. A combined course will be made available to students during their final year.
A Public Speaking program (Speechcraft) is arranged through Saskatoon Toastmasters Clubs and is made available to students during their second year.
The National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (NAPRA) defines the core requirements for licensure as a pharmacist in Canada. These are:
Degree program in Pharmacy – accredited by the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP) – our B.S.P. program has full accreditation status.
Language Fluency Requirements – please see NAPRA’s Language Fluency Requirements for Licensure as a Pharmacist in Canada for more information.
Pharmacy Jurisprudence Requirements – this involves practicing within legal requirements, demonstrating professional integrity and upholding professional standards of practice and codes of ethics. See NAPRA’s Pharmacy Jurisprudence Competencies for Licensure as a Pharmacist in Canada.
Practical Experience/Training – this experience is included within the B.S.P. degree at the University of Saskatchewan in the "Structured Practice Experiences Program" (SPEP). Pharmacy students must register with the Saskatchewan College of Pharmacists (SCP) in order to participate in the SPEP.
National Licensing Examination – the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada’s (PEBC) Qualifying Examination consists of two parts: a written portion and an OSCE (Observed Structured Clinical Examination), which are designed to test the candidate’s knowledge and performance of NAPRA’s Professional Competencies.
