Welcome to the home page for the 2nd Western Canadian Medicinal Chemistry Workshop.
The WCMCW will be held at the University of Saskatchewan.

The Western Canadian Medicinal Chemistry Workshop was developed with two major goals:

(1) To provide a forum for western Canadian researchers in the pharmaceutical sciences (medicinal chemistry, pharmacokinetics, pharmaceutics) chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, toxicology and physiology to meet and learn about common interests, with the goal of establishing cross-disciplinary collaborations within and between institutions.

(2) Provide training opportunities for postdoctoral, graduate and undergraduate researchers with an interest in the pharmaceutical sciences.


The workshop will consit of a mixer on the evening of Friday September 24, followed by oral and poster presentations on Saturday September 25 (am/ pm) and oral presentations on Sunday September 26 (am).
The oral sessions will consist of both invited and submitted
presentations.
The poster session will consist entirely of submitted presentations.
Awards will given to outstanding posters in the undergraduate, MSc. and Ph.D. categories as well as an award for outstanding student oral presentation.

2nd WCMCW 2010, September 24-26, 2010, University of Saskatchewan

The second WCMCW was held September 24-26, 2010 at the University of Saskatchewan. The workshop consisted of oral presentations Saturday morning and afternoon and Sunday morning. A poster sessions was held Saturday afternoon.
In addition, on Sunday morning a breakfast workshop for postdoctoral fellows and graduate and undergraduate students on Opportunities in the Pharmacuetical industry in Canada was hosted by Dr. Sultan Chowdhury from Xenon Pharmaceuticals
.
