Brian has just completed his fifth year as coach of the University of Saskatchewan Huskie men's volleyball team. Brian, a graduate of both the College of Physical Education and the College of Education at the U of S, returned to the Huskie program after teaching junior high school in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Brian was a conference all-star for four of his five seasons with the Huskies, 1984-85 through 1987-88. During his playing days he was also named an All-Canadian twice and made four appearances in the CIAU national championships. The Huskies won a bronze medal, two silver medals and the elusive CIAU national championship in his last year with the team .

Under Brian's guidance the Huskies have now appeared twice at the CIAU National Championships, 1995 and 1997. His career coaching record, at the University level, is .539.
