Senior Leadership

The President and Vice-Chancellor is the chief executive officer of the University. The President has ultimate responsibility for the academic work and general administration of the University, the members of faculty, officers, other employees and students, and such additional powers and duties as from time to time may be conferred upon or assigned to the President by the Board. The President is expected to bring educational leadership and a visionary approach to defining the academic and administrative focus of the University.

The Provost and Vice-President Academic, Vice-President Finance and Resources, Vice-President Research, Vice-President University Advancement, the University Secretary, the Special Advisor on Aboriginal Initiatives and the Director of Government Relations report directly to the President.

Aboriginal Initiatives

The Special Advisor on Aboriginal Initiatives moves the University's Aboriginal agenda forward by identifying, initiating and developing university-wide initiatives that support the Conceptual Framework for Aboriginal Initiatives both on and off campus. Advises and supports the President, Vice-Presidents, Deans and senior staff in their task of representing the University of Saskatchewan to the Aboriginal community and to funding agencies. Works collaboratively with senior administrators and program heads towards the overall coordination and promotion of Aboriginal initiatives on campus. Encourages the systematic development of emerging projects and provides leadership in establishing a strong network both within the Aboriginal community and with other post-secondary educational institutions.

Government Relations

The University of Saskatchewan's Office of Government Relations was established in 2002 to help facilitate communication and understanding between the U of S and all levels of government. The Office acts as a liaison, providing support and advice to the University community in their contacts with government representatives, as well as providing an easy contact point for those in government who wish to learn more about the University of Saskatchewan and its activities.
