Food Science
Administration of this program is through the Department of Food and Bioproduct Sciences, College of Agriculture and Bioresources; the contact person is the student advisor, Dr. N.H. Low, or the Department Head Dr. G. G. Khachatourians.
Food Science is the discipline in which the biological and physical sciences and engineering are used to study the nature of foods, the causes of their deterioration, and the principles underlying food processing and preservation. This program is designed for students who have a strong interest in the basic sciences and who wish to apply this knowledge to the selection, preservation, packaging, and distribution of safe, nutritious food.

Bachelor of Science Honours (B.Sc. Honours) - Food Science
Students interested in entering an Honours program should consult advisors in the department concerned before registering for their second year. Of the 120 credit units required for the B.Sc. degree, at least 66 credit units must be at the senior level. Application for admission to Honours is not considered until successful completion of at least 60 credit units with a Cumulative Weighted Average of at least 70% overall and at least 70% in the subject of Honours.
