Linguistics is an interdisciplinary program
that explores the structure of language, its change and development,
language functioning in the lives of individuals, groups and societies.
Linguistics finds applications in speech and language pathology,
cultural studies, communication, and education.
For further information about the Linguistics program, please contact V. Makarova, Linguistics Program Chair.
Students
should note that it is possible to major in Linguistics either in
Program Type A or B. Students wishing to major in Linguistics must
consult the Administrative Committee.
Please consult the
Undergraduate Student Office for a list of the courses in this Program
which are used for the calculation of the C.W.A. in the major for
graduation purposes.
Frequency of Course Offerings
Not all courses listed in the Course & Program Catalogue are offered every year. Careful planning in consultation with the Program Chair will eliminate problems.
