Applied Microbiology

Emphasis in course work and research is on the role and exploitation of microbial activities in agriculture, industry, and the environment. Faculty research interests include water quality, safety, fermentation, yeast nutrition, microbial biotechnology, applied mycology, microbial genetics, feed biotransformation, environmental microbiology, and microbial lipids.Programs may be oriented towards Biotechnology.
Postgraduate Diploma (P.G.D.)
Admission Requirements
- a Bachelor of
Science Four-year Honours in Agriculture (B.S.A. Honours) or a Bachelor
of Science Four-year Honours (B.Sc Four-year Honours), or equivalent
from a recognized college or university
- a minimum scholastic
standing of 65% Cumulative Weighted Average in each of the final two
years (i.e., 60 credit units) of undergraduate study
- evidence of proficiency in the English language

- a minimum of 30 credit units, at least 18 of which are at the 800-level
