Master of Arts (M.A.) Psychology - Applied Social Stream
The M.A. in Applied Social Psychology trains students to conduct basic and applied social psychological research. Specifically, the program offers training in social psychological theory, research design and methodology, statistics, program evaluation, along with many independent research opportunities. Unique to this program is the emphasis placed on students obtaining research-based experience through diverse practicum and internship placements. Faculty interests are currently: acculturation, body image, criminal justice, diversity, gay and lesbian issues, immigration, intergroup relations, prejudice, reproductive health/mental health, sexuality, and stereotyping.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Psychology - Cognition and Neuroscience
The Cognition and Neuroscience Graduate Program is designed for students who wish to focus primarily on basic research and theoretical issues. Our objective is to train highly-qualified scientists for basic psychological research in university, hospital, community, industry, or government settings. CGNS offers two areas of specialization: Behavioural Neuroscience and Cognitive Science.

- The residency requirement is two years and students must defend a Master's thesis based on original research.
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Psychology - Clinical Stream
The Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology is accredited by both the Canadian Psychological Association and the American Psychological Association. It follows a scientist-practitioner model, blending scholarly research with professional skill training. The program trains clinical psychologists for employment in academic, research, clinical, community, and private practice settings.

Transfer from Master's to Ph.D. - Clinical Stream
Normally, students transfer from the M.A. after their first year in the graduate program and then maintain continuous registration in PSY 996.0 until all requirements for the Ph.D. are met.

- Students complete a qualifying examination within the first 24 months in the program, and comprehensive examinations are completed during Year 3, following completion, or near-completion, of all course work.
- The residency requirement is 3 years and students must defend a Ph.D. dissertation based on original research.

The program is designed for students interested in the intersection of culture and human development across the lifespan, and promotes interdisciplinarity and mixed methods within a Psychology framework. Students can undertake research work locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.

- Undergraduate Honours degree in any relevant field.
- Honours training should demonstrate a substantial research component.
- TOEFL (for International Students) 550 for paper or 213 for computer version.
- GREs are not required.
