Biomedical Engineering

The Division of Biomedical Engineering offers postgraduate programs leading to M.Eng., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees. Research in the Division is of an interdisciplinary nature involving the application of Engineering Sciences to the solution of specific problems in Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, and related fields. The following are focal areas for the activity: biomedical image processing, biomechanics, medical instrumentation, and use of the Biomedical Beam Line of the Canadian Light Source.
Master of Engineering (M.Eng.)
Admission Requirements- A Bachelor degree, or equivalent, from a recognized college or university in a field related to Biomedical Engineering
Degree RequirementsStudents must maintain continuous registration in the 992 course.
- GSR 960.0
- GSR 961.0 if research involves human subjects
- GSR 962.0 if research involves animal subjects
- a minimum of 24 credit units
- BIOE 990.0
- BIOE 992.0
- a final report on their project
- a residency requirement of one year
Master of Science (M.Sc.)
Admission Requirements- a Bachelor degree, or equivalent, from a recognized college or university in a field related to Biomedical Engineering

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
Admission Requirements- a Masters degree, or equivalent, from a recognized college or university in a field related to Biomedical Engineering
