Education

The four departments in the College of Education offer programs leading to the degrees of Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Education, and in some departments, Postgraduate Diploma.  Each area of study has slightly different entrance requirements.  Interested students may acquire information about the various programs by writing to the Associate Dean, College of Education, or to the Head of the appropriate department.  The four departments are:

Curriculum Studies, including Educational Communications and Technology

Educational Administration

Educational Foundations, including Continuing Education and Indian and Northern Education

Educational Psychology and Special Education 

Integrated Masters of Education

The purpose of the Integrated Masters of Education program is to provide opportunity for students to undertake graduate study in the area of social and ecological justice education.  Through its course offerings the program provides for the interdisciplinary and international study of Indigenous education, adult and lifelong learning, anti-racist and anti-oppressive education, ecological and environmental education, process teaching and learning, sexual orientation and gender study, and other related thematic areas including throug the study of philosophy, anthropology, Indigenous studies, lifelong and adult education, women's studies, history and sociology of education.
