Educational Administration

The department is actively involved in research relating to educational
leadership, rural education, and school effectiveness.
Master's degrees may be
obtained by the completion of an acceptable thesis or by the
substitution of prescribed courses for the thesis. The course-based M.Ed. is intended to be a terminal degree and may not prepare students for further studies in this area. Interested students
may acquire information about the various programs by writing to the Associate Dean, College of Education, or to the Head of the appropriate department:The department is actively involved in research relating to educational

The Department of Educational Administration has a regular Ph.D.
program. Programs leading to the Ph.D. degree in other departments are
available only to exceptional students on a special case basis.
Prospective students should consult with the Head of the Department.
Postgraduate Diploma (P.G.D.)
Admission Requirements- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent
- minimum average of 65%
- 2 or more years of successful teaching experience
Degree Requirements- a minimum of 30 credit units
- a residency requirement of minimum of 6 months consecutive registration
Master of Education (M.Ed.)
Admission Requirements- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent
- minimum average of 73%
- 2 or more years of successful teaching experience
Degree RequirementsStudents must maintain continuous registration in the 994 course.
- thesis: 21 credit units, plus EADM 994 and EADM 990.0
- course-based (non-thesis): 30 credit units, including EADM 991.3 and EADM 990.0
- core courses include:
- ERES 800.3
- EADM 811.3
- EADM 990.0
- a minimum residency requirement of 12 months consecutive registration
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
Admission Requirements- Master of Education (M.Ed.) or equivalent
- 2 or more years of successful teaching experience
- high academic standing in undergraduate and graduate degrees
Degree RequirementsStudents must maintain continuous registration in the 996 course.
