Mechanical Engineering

Research is conducted in various disciplines of Mechanical Engineering
which include: Applied Mechanics, Materials and Metallurgy,
Manufacturing, Fluid and Thermal Sciences, Bio-engineering, Robotics,
and Control Systems. Multidisciplinary studies are encouraged with the
cooperation of other departments. Experimental, numerical, and
theoretical investigations are carried out using a large number of
research labs and computer systems.
Postgraduate Diploma (P.G.D.)
Admission Requirements- a degree, or equivalent, from a recognized college or university in a field related to Mechanical Engineering
Degree Requirements- GSR 960.0
- GSR 961.0 if research involves human subjects
- GSR 962.0 if research involves animal subjects
- a minimum of 30 credit units
- residency requirement of 1 year
Master of Engineering (M.Eng.)
Admission Requirements- a degree, or equivalent, from a recognized college or university in a field related to Mechanical Engineering
Degree RequirementsStudents must maintain continuous registration in the 992 course.
- GSR 960.0
- GSR 961.0 if research involves human subjects
- GSR 962.0 if research involves animal subjects
- a minimum of 24 credit units, plus the 992 course.
- ME 990.0
- ME 992.0
- residency reguirement of 1 year
Master of Science (M.Sc.)
Admission Requirements- a degree, or equivalent, from a recognized college or university in a field related to Mechanical Engineering
Degree RequirementsStudents must maintain continuous registration in the 994 course.

- GSR 962.0 if research involves animal subjects
- a minimum of 15 credit units, including:
- ME 990.0
- ME 994
- Residency requirement of 1 year
Doctor of Philsophy (Ph.D.)
Admission Requirements- a degree, or equivalent, from a recognized college or university in a field related to Mechanical Engineering
Degree RequirementsStudents must maintain continuous registration in the 996 course.

- GSR 961.0 if research involves human subjects
- GSR 962.0 if research involves animal subjects
- a minimum of 6 credit units, including:
- ME 990.0
- ME 996
- residency requirement of 1 year
Transfer from Master's to Ph.D.
