Plant Sciences

These programs provide training in all aspects of Plant Science
including agronomy, biodiversity, biotechnology, crop quality,
horticulture, plant breeding, plant ecology, plant pathology, plant
physiology, and weed science. Many members of non-university
institutions on campus, including Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and
the Plant Biotechnology Institute/NRC are Adjunct Professors. Graduate
students may also carry out their thesis research in these institutions.
Master of Science (M.Sc.)
Admission Requirements- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or Bachelor of Agriculture (B.S.A.)
Degree RequirementsStudents must maintain continuous registration in the 994 course.

- GSR 962.0 if research involves animal subjects
- 9 credit units minimum of approved courses. All 9 credit units must be at the graduate 800-level. More courses may be required if the student is lacking in appropriate academic background.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

Transfer from Master's to Ph.D
Admission Requirements- Students in the M.Sc. program may be qualified to transfer to Ph.D. program without obtaining an M.Sc. degree.
