Canadian Engineering Memorial Foundation
May 01, 2006

U of S civil engineering Master's student Heather Rodger is one of two students across Canada to receive a $10,000 Inco Limited Masters Scholarship in Engineering from Inco Ltd. and the Canadian Engineering Memorial Foundation.  The scholarships are designed to encourage more women to study mining and metallurgical engineering or a related engineering discipline.

The CEMF was founded in 1990 to develop scholarship and award programs that encourage women to choose engineering as a career to honour the memory of the 14 women at Ecole Polytechnique whose contributions to Canada ended on december 6, 1989.  Along with Rodger, the second Inco Ltd. Masters Scholarship in Engineering was awarded to Laura Wall from the University of Alberta.
