Bridge funding for CIHR Grants
Provides six months of reduced (70%) operating funding to highly-rated CIHR
grants that are not supported by the Saskatchewan-CIHR Regional Partnership
Program. Funding is dependent upon partnership with the researcher’s
College and/or research centre. Funding is normally provided to renewals, not
new grants.
Deadlines: Not applicable
Application: CIHR operating grant applications which have been internally
reviewed and rated (normally 3.7 and higher) by CIHR are automatically considered.

New Faculty Start-up Funding (Formerly VP Academic Start-up Funding and Capital Equipment Funding)
New appointees are eligible to apply for a computer, $5,000 of operating funds and
equipment funds through the Vice-Provost Office. The equipment funding request must be matched by a college or departmental contribution.

Conference funding
Members of the University academic, student or administrative community are
eligible to apply for a Conference Fund Grant ranging in value from $250 and
$5,000
Deadlines:January 1, May 1, and September 1

Research Acceleration Program
To provide financial assistance for proposal development expenses relating to Large Scale Tri-Agency and Large Scale Non Tri-Agency funding applications.

Matching Grant Program
Provides an OVPR contribution of up to $100,000 ($20,000 per year for five
years for graduate student support) for large, collaborative grants which are
of strategic significance to the University.

Provides seed funding of up to $7,000 for projects in the humanities, social sciences and fine arts.

Publications Fund
Provides funding to support manuscript preparation, publishing subventions
and learned journal subsidies. Grants up to $5,000 depending on the type of
support required.
Deadlines: May 1 (or the next working day when these dates occur on a weekend) A second competition (November 1) will only be held if sufficient funds are available.

Research Grant In-Lieu of Salary
A portion of the applicant’s salary is designated as a research grant
for an acceptable research project. No additional funds exchange between the
University and the applicant. The successful applicant receives a larger net
salary because less income tax is deducted

Sabbatical Leave Research Grant In-Lieu of Salary
The Collective Agreement between the University and the Faculty Association
(Clause 20.12) permits faculty to receive a portion of her/his sabbatical salary
in the form of a research grant
