The following should be completed prior to Moving in.
Proceed to the Gold Lounge located on the main floor of Athabasca Hall (located beside Saskatchewan Hall to the west, behind the Faculty Club to the North and east of the PAC) and complete the following:
Upon completion of the steps in the Gold Lounge you will do one of the following:
Your student card is your Student Identification card, building key, room key, meal card, PAC access, and library card.
When you arrive in you room you will find a carbon copy form titled Voyageur Place: Move-In/Move-Out ROOM Inventory List. You must complete the form in full noting any deficiencies, damages or cleaning concerns on the form. Return the completed copy to your RA.
In your room you will also find a sheet containing some of the basic rules and things to know about Residence. As required by your lease, please ensure you also read the handbook.
If you are living in a double room you will also find a Roommate Agreement. Please go through this with your roommate and return it to your RA as soon as possible.
If you have any questions or concerns talk to your RA.
Refer to your lease agreement for vacating information.
REMINDER RE: ACCOMMODATION EXTENSIONSIf you need to stay past the last day of your contract April 30th at noon, you need to extend with the office by the deadline in email sent to your usask email account. From May 1-15 you may extend for accommodation (only) you will be charged per day, at single and double room rate depending on your accommodation. Check with the Residence Office for the rate charges. If you require accommodation later than May 15th, accommodation is available in Seager Wheeler Hall. This application deadline will also be communicated to you through your usask email account. Missing the deasline will result in a $75.00 administration fee being applied to your extension.
When vacating, you must leave your room clean and make arrangements with the Residence Office or RA to have your room inspected and complete your Move In Room Inventory List (the one you filled out at the Beginning of the year). The cost of missing items of furniture and furnishings, damage beyond fair wear and tear, and cleaning service will be charged at the going residence hourly rate. On vacating, clean shall be interpreted to mean:
Make any necessary arrangements with your roommate to ensure your share of cleaning responsibilities has been fulfilled. Failure to clean your room to the Residence Department standards will result in cleaning fees starting at $25 per hour.
Your keys must be turned in to your RA or the main office at the time you move out. A charge of $25.00 for mail box key (s) not returned will be assessed.
You are required to sign a contract which is legally binding for the full school year, September to April inclusive, and you are financially responsible for the full period of your contract. Details are found in your Lease Agreement. You cannot change this obligation without the approval of the Residence Manager.
Under the following special circumstances, subject to the Residence Managers approval, your contract may be terminated early:
Your request for cancellation must be in writing and submitted to the Residence Office. Before making plans to leave residence, you must meet with the Assistant Residence Manager. Refer to your Lease Agreement.
