Moving In

Registration will be in the Gold Lounge in Athabasca Hall. You will receive your room assignment and get your keys. If you did not pay online or sign your lease prior to arrival you may do so at this time. From there you will go to Seager Wheeler Hall/College Quarter to move in.  Please refer to the Move In Dates section for move in dates, time and restrictions.

Moving Out

Your lease for accommodation may be terminated prior to the expiration date on the lease by giving 60 days notice in writing. Please refer to your lease for details.

You are responsible for cleaning and any damages beyond regular wear and tear in your personal bedroom. In addition, you are responsible for the cleaning of an assigned common area of the apartment. You and your roommates are collectively responsible for damages to the common areas of the apartment. Any damage not accounted for by tenants of the apartment will be charged to all tenants of that apartment equally.

When vacating you must leave your room clean and your assigned area clean. You need to make arrangements with the caretaking staff or a Resident Assistant to have your room inspected and complete an outgoing clearance form. You will be charged for missing items or furniture and damages beyond wear and tear. If your room and/or apartment is left dirty you will be charged for cleaning by the hour. The expectation of clean upon vacating includes:

• personal belongings removed from apartment and storage lockers prior to inspection
• tape, nails, hooks, brackets must be removed from walls and cupboards prior to inspection
• bedroom and assigned common areas must be cleaned to the state that existed at the time of taking occupancy of the apartment
• refrigerator and freezer must be defrosted and washed inside and out
• stove must be cleaned inside and out and free from all grease
• fume hood must be washed and free of all grease
• kitchen sink must be washed and rinsed
• toilets and surrounding walls must be cleaned
• bathtub, shower and surrounding walls must be cleaned
• all walls, cupboards, closets, doors, are to be washed
• hard-surfaced floors must be swept and washed, carpets must be vacuumed

After your room has been inspected you must return all keys to the caretaker/RA. Other tasks to complete before vacating include: settling your telephone, cable and internet bills with roommates and completing a change of address card at the Post Office or go to www.canadapost.ca and go through the online change of address form.

Lease renewal

Staying the summer? Planning on returning next semester? Information about renewing your lease will be emailed to your usask email address in Mid February. If you do not receive notice please go to the Residence Office.

Note: We do not allow subletting in Seager Wheeler Hall and College Quarter.
