Residents of Voyageur Place may purchase parking at Stadium Parkade for the current term, (while supplies last.) RESIDENT STUDENTS DO NOT APPLY IN THE ON LINE STUDENT PARKING SALE. Availability may be limited at Stadium, so please apply as soon as possible. Parking is permitted on all levels of Stadium Parkade at this time. Electrified stalls are available on all levels but the main level, however there is no guarantee of getting an electrified stall. Diesel stalls are provided at an extra charge. Do not plug into an outlet that is not facing your vehicle whether it is being used or not. If someone else is parked at an electrical outlet, you cannot utilize it under any circumstances.
To apply for parking, all applicants must attend the Parking Office in person during regular office hours:
1. Valid student card will be required
2. Valid vehicle registration must be provided. Vehicle must be owned by parent/guardian or student. No exceptions. The reason that this is enforced is so that residence students do not use their buying privileges for others students who are not residents.
3. Method of payment. Cash, Visa, MasterCard are accepted. No third party credit cards will be accepted.
4. If you bring a vehicle later in the term, you may not be able to purchase a stall at Stadium, however you could possibly purchase in other locations (as available).
Alternate parking options:
1. As space allows, at McEown Park
2. Fieldhouse overflow (Lot 15) as space allows
3. Pay lots
TOP TEN INFORMATION PARKING TIPS
1. Vehicles cannot be parked at any time on University property without valid plates. Any vehicles left while owners are out of the country etc, can and will be towed to a towing compound and all towing fees and storage will be the responsibility of the registered owner. Depending upon the time involved, this can be very expensive.
2. Can I use my AVI (automatic vehicle identification) tag to assist another vehicle leaving the parkade? For example, your vehicle is having mechanical problems and you require the assistance of a tow truck or a boost from a friend. That vehicle must pay to enter/exit the parkade even though they are NOT parking and are only there to assist you. It is against the bylaws, to assist another vehicle in leaving the parkade without paying. If you want to, you can pay the parking fee for them ($1.00 per half hour). If you use your AVI tag to help the assisting vehicle to leave the lot you will be breaking the bylaw called ANTI PASS BACK, and the assisting vehicle will be breaking the bylaw LEAVE THE LOT WITHOUT PAYING. Each of these bylaws carries a penalty of $250.00 and will be caught by video surveillance. In addition to the penalty, your “parking privileges” may also be revoked.
3. Pay lots operate 24/7, 365 days per year. If you chose to park in a pay lot, you must pay the appropriate fee to exit. Again, lots are monitored by video surveillance.
4. Can I park at meters after hours? Yes, if you follow the operating times. All meters are in operation from 7 am - 10pm, Monday-Saturday. After 10 pm, Monday to Saturday, and Sundays and statutory holidays, meters are free of charge.
5. Can I park in non-designated areas, disabled or stalls otherwise marked after hours? No, this is in effect 24/7, 365 days per year even if all other stalls are empty. They are reserved all of the time and “no parking” is always no parking.
6. Stadium Parkade permit holders must know that there is a disclaimer that states there is “no guarantee of parking.” The disclaimer states that permit holders must find alternate parking at their own cost, if the lot is full. This only happens 2-3 days per year and both occasions are usually in September or October for large special events like “Experience Us.”
7. Snow Clearing at McEown Park. Signs will be posted in advance, designating when the snow clearing shall commence. All vehicles must be removed from the lot during this period. No exceptions. Alternative parking during this time is the owner’s responsibility and at the owner’s expense. If you are absent during the winter months with your vehicle parked in the lot, you MUST make advance arrangements for someone to move your vehicle for snow clearing. Your vehicle must be permitted and licensed at all times. If any of these conditions are not met, the vehicle will be towed at the owner’s expense. Again, this can be a very expensive especially if you are gone for a long period of time.
8. Can I get a refund if I no longer require parking? Yes, all UNUSED months can be refunded, however you would lose the benefit of having purchased at a longer term reduced rate and there will be an administrative charge to process the refund.
9. Can I use my McEown Park permit on campus at night? Yes, you can. Your U lot permit will be valid in all non-gated lots. Please see Parking website for specific locations under “night parking.” This does NOT include meters, pay lots, pay by space or private lots such as NRC or Canada Agriculture at any time.
10. Can I use my Stadium permit on campus at night? No, Stadium Parkade parking is for Stadium Parkade ONLY.
