Located in the heart of the University of Saskatchewan Campus Voyageur Place consists of four Residence Halls: Athabasca Hall, Saskatchewan Hall, Qu'Appelle Hall and Qu'Appelle Hall Addition. There is space for 270 women and 300 men. Voyageur Place offers room and board and all bedrooms, lounges, and corridors are carpeted. Wheelchair accessible rooms are available. Voyageur Place residence contracts include both accommodation and meals. Animals or pets of any kind are not allowed.
When applying to live in Voyageur Place, you have the option to choose from two different kinds of halls: an academic hall or a social-academic hall. The first one is quiet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; the second allows for extended hours of social activity, with quiet time starting at 10:30 p.m. on weeknights (Sunday to Thursday). On the weekend, quiet hours begin at midnight. During exams (December and April) all halls become 24-hours quiet halls. There are also co-ed, male only, and female only halls.
Please note upper year students and Greystone/Chancellor Scholars have priority for academic areas.
When you apply for Residence you can request to live with a specific individual. Just be sure that individual has identified you as their preferred roommate on their application. If you don't know anyone coming to Residence or have no roommate preference, not to worry, we will match you with someone. Matches are based on the following criteria: age, gender, social/academic, and College/Program.
At Voyageur Place, you will enjoy the comfort of a furnished room with a single size bed, desk, chair, study lamp, clothes closet, and chest of drawers. We supply bedding and the linen can be exchanged weekly. You are responsible for keeping your room clean and tidy but housekeeping staff takes care of the corridors, lounges, bathrooms, and other common areas. You can wash and dry your clothes in the coin-operated laundry rooms in the basements of Athabasca, Saskatchewan, and QuAppelle Halls. Change Machine for Laundry is located in Saskatchewan Hall by the Residence Office.
