Uploading New Files into the WCMS
You will likely need to include files such as PDFs in your site. The File wizard allows you to upload a file such as a PDF, Word document or image into Cascade from your computer.
To upload a file:
- From the Menu bar, click New | File.

The Create New File area will open. - Upload your file by clicking the Browse button and searching for your file.

A window with your computer’s file folders will open.
- Find your file and click the Open button. The File Upload field is populated with the file path for your file. Please Note: You are not required to provide a system name; by default it uses the existing file name. If you upload an image file, you will see your image appear in the image editor above the file upload area.

- You can save your file in a sub folder. Click on the folder icon to select a sub folder.

The Cascade Folder chooser opens.
- Select the appropriate sub folder. You can use the “+” beside the folder to expand the folder tree. The folder listed as the Current Selection will change when you select a different folder. You can also search using the Search pane or Search box. The History pane will bring up a list of recently visited folders.
- Click the Confirm button.

The selected folder is now listed as the Parent Folder. - Optional: Click the Metadata pane to add metadata for your new file.

Please Note: Leave the Display Name blank unless you want the file to be listed in the left navigation of the website. - Click the Submit button.

You will receive a message “Asset created successfully.” Your file can be found in the designated folder. - After you have uploaded your file, you will need to publish it.
Once the file has been uploaded into Cascade, you can create an internal link to the file using a WYSIWYG editor or by using a file chooser on a structured content page.
